I’ve been trying to use this summing box I won in a contest. My tracks were running through the outputs into the unit and then into the line inputs on the API 3124. They came out sounding so incredibly thin I was ready to chuck the thing out the window. After some thought and a bunch of naps I decided to think about the differences between line level inputs and mic level inputs. Then I remembered how I recorded the bass for the song; bass DI directly into the API 3124.

Fucking Hi-Z inputs. Impedance mismatch.
